This Friday night, Feal Mor boutique on La Brea is hosting an All-American themed soiree to celebrate the 1000 Mile collection by 125 year-old U.S. boot maker Wolverine.

The handmade, dual sex line features the same old-world boot details that perfectly pair with modern ironic mustaches — think stacked wood heels, sturdy Horween leather and wingtip stitching that screams both "prohibition!" and "Silver Lake!" at the very same time. As they should: the boots, which start at $325, are modeled off Wolverine patterns from the 1930s.

In addition to checking out the way cool collection of Michigan-made boots, guests will be treated to beer, rum and sausage sandwiches that are sure to warm bellies, turn of the last century-style.

Because I do.

Yes, I admit it — good footwear is the very first thing I look for in a man. Steady income, laundered clothes and valid drivers license be damned. Shoes are the real deal maker or breaker in my world. Straight men in Ferragamo loafers (yes, they do in fact exist) have made my knees go weak, boring boys in faux-hiking boots have made me cringe and baby-faced jokesters wearing perfectly worn-in vintage Nike Dunks have made me fall in love (just the other day I spotted former NBC boss Ben Silverman at a press junket and was quite taken aback and turned off by what looked like his pair of Merrell slip-ons and NBA-branded sports socks. Sudden Repulsion Syndrome, fo' sho).

Knowing my, uh, discerning nature all too well, a friend just forwarded me a hilarious blog post on the subject from ThoughtCatalog.com, proving that I'm not the only superficial, judgmental asshole on the planet (or the only girl who chooses to write about such things, thus making the chances that I'll ever get asked out to dinner again slim to none).

Which is why we're now stowing a pair of PocketFlops in our glove compartment. Thanks to a split sole, the $22 flip-flops fold in half, with dirty soles touching, but stay perfectly flat once unfolded.

The clever shoes are made from recycled tire rubber (and eco-friendly material) and come with a matching pouch that we will 100% lose by the summer's end. But no matter! The flips will remain tucked safely away, ready to emerge at the next nail shack.

The nifty flops are sold at all Bliss Spas and at www.pocketflops.com.

And now the Brazilian flip flop masters have teamed up with Missoni on a four-piece, limited edition collection of colorful sandals that launch today. They're definitely darling. But thinking about Havaianas of our past that we've destroyed, lost, given away and damaged — not to mention the things those suckers have stepped in — make us question the sanity in spending $60 (or roughly three times the price of a standard style) on a pair. But that doesn't rule out the completely cute zig zag print, Rasta-esque espadrilles that, at $130, feel like a bit more bang for the buck. Especially in L.A., where summer never ends.

Atwood is known for his sexy stilettos but it looks like he has a new trick up his sleeve, and we don't mind one bit. The “Hampton” patent leather flat comes in blue, yellow, red and cream. What better way to add a bold pop to your spring and summer step? We love pieces like these because they take simple jeans and t-shirt look to a while new level.

If you haven't been to our homepage yet today, you're missing our originally-produced photo shoot with Buenos Aires-born, L.A.-based dancer Carolina Cerisola. Styled by Ronit Nabi and shot by Raquel Olivo at Movement Studio LA, Cerisola, who spent six years headlining Ivan Kane's now-shuttered Forty Deuce, sported these ridiculously awesome Lanvin wedges. And would you believe that the snakeskin is actually not skin at all but canvas? Crazy.

Click here to read about Cerisola's cool career path from go-go dancer to landing on-tour with Sting. And see her in cozy Alexander Wang knits, Isabel Marant shorts and yes, the sky-high Lanvin stunners above.

Swoon.

If you haven’t been to our homepage yet today, you’re missing our originally-produced photo shoot with Buenos Aires-born, L.A.-based dancer Carolina Cerisola. Styled by Ronit Nabi and shot by Raquel Olivo at Movement Studio LA, Cerisola, who spent six years headlining Ivan Kane’s now-shuttered Forty Deuce, sported these ridiculously awesome Lanvin wedges. And would you believe that the snakeskin is actually not skin at all but canvas? Crazy.

The line is cool and contemporary without being overly trendy. And, unbeknown to those who aren't actually wearing them, designed with the latest orthopedic technology in mind.

Until now, Davis' wares were only available online and at small boutiques. But starting tomorrow, Bloomingdale's in Century City will carry the collection. Join Dana at a celebratory trunk show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and snag a glimpse at the Spring/Summer 2011 line.

Your tired soles will thank you.

Thursday, March 10th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bloomingdales Century City. 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles. 310-772-2100.

Delish shoe brand Loeffler Randall is diving into the bridal biz with a new collection of bridal shoes. And despite the inherent corniness of the bulk of wedding accoutrement, it's not a bit cheesy; the brand's actually managed to bring its low-key cool to the line.

There are five styles on the menu, ranging from flat, and barely-there wedge sandals (because it's really about time for luxe wedding-appropriate sandals), to the insanely genius satin-and-mesh Georgia bridal booties, pictured directly below.

Feast your eyes, ya'll.

The seven styles include a selection of Chanel-esque ballet flats as well as studded, cowboy and combat boots that start at $185 and top out at just under $500.

And it seems the boutique has created the perfect spring boot in their Punk ($395), a mish-mash of some of our favorite boot styles that, in this case, somehow blend just right.

A rounded toe and square heel lend a riding boot feel, while western, outside stitching screams wild, wild west. Distressed suede adds a rugged bohemian quality. And something about the total package feels very Hells Angels, minus the Sunday morning visit to Neptune's Net. We're imaging them with something short, lace, floral and flowy and also with a big springtime smile.

Ladies, slippers are not just for men, elderly women or reserved solely for the house anymore. The flat footwear is luxury — a throw back, if you will, to the days of smoking jackets and fancy dinner parties. And although they may seem dated to those trend worshipers whose platforms and combat boots are permanently affixed to their feet, we think slippers are unbelievably chic. Not to mention they look fantastic thrown on with black skinny jeans and your favorite T-shirt.

Stubbs & Wooton, Jimmy Choo and Newbark — the cream of the crop of slipper cobblers — are making versions in luxurious fabrics including leather, suede and velvet. Regardless of how you choose to style the slipper, leave your bathrobe out of it.
