Jessica Simpson: Our fugliest outfit of the week, courtesy of The Fug Girls

Check out this recent picture that the Fug Girls found of Jessica Simpson looking like a snow beast.

Oh my dear Jessica, when will you learn. While I love that you have finally embraced your curves (which we know from the few hundred interviews where you’ve said so) I don’t quite understand why you continue to dress in such a tacky, unflattering way.

White and black leggings with a horizontal pattern should be reserved for 10-year-old girls or, if one must indulge, the privacy of one’s own home. The plot thickens with the cliché ski bunny parka and an out-of-place Dior handbag.

But those fur boots took me over the edge.

Bottom line, too much fur and too much spandex — curves or not.

The Fugliest outfit of the week, according to The Fug Girls

We can’t get enough of Go Fug Yourself., the website devoted to the unflattering, ill-fitting, and downright ugly fashion choices from the biggest name celebs out there. The site makes frighteningly bad fashion humorous. Like, laugh of loud humorous. And here is our pick for the fugliest image of the week from their stable of nasties.

Here we have Winona Ryder at the Black Swan premiere. The suit is ill fitting, the necklace is distracting and the shoes look like they are from Donald Pliner circa 1999. The icing on the cake is her expression. Could she look any more constipated?

From the archives: Kay Panabaker’s September, 2009 Style Section L.A. photo shoot

We always know a good starlet-to-be when we see one. And sure enough, actress Kay Panabaker — who we shot in September, 2009 — seems to be everywhere these days. Prior to her current small screen stint on ABC’s No Ordinary Family, the 20 year-old Texas native sat down with us at Palihouse to dish on fedoras, her favorite brands and making jewelry from scratch. One of our favorite shots is above. The rest, along with our full interview, can be found by clicking here.

She’s baaack. Shannen Doherty, a.k.a. Brenda Walsh from “90210,” has released a book called Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude. 1. MAC Russian Red
2. Chanel Provocative
3. Bobbi Brown Silver Haze

Aziz Ansari’s stage costume of choice

Here’s a factoid that may come in handy at the dinner party table. While reading a copy of the November 1 New Yorker that I stole from my neighbor, I discovered that hilarious comedian Aziz Ansari prefers wearing suits when preforming stand up — a style that is very unlike his T-shirt and sneaker wearing funny-boy brethren.

“Now, when I don’t do it, it feels like I’m — not phoning it in, but it just feels more proper when I’m dressed up.” Ansari said in the profile.

And his suit brand of choice?

Band of Outsiders.

Raaaaaaaandy should take note.

Monday evening gorgeousness: James Franco covers British Esquire

On the cover of the magazine’s November issue, the actor/writer/student/stoner/hottie exudes California-ism in the best of ways, no? Convertible, shades and sunshine. What more does one jack-of-all-trades need?

Friday afternoon gorgeousness: Lindsay Lohan’s latest mug shot

Lindsay Lohan was sent back to jail today for blowing a bit of the white devil last week, therefore violating the terms of her probation from her last stint in the slammer. But I must say, she looks rested, wrinkle-free and not quite as wretched as usual, no? Granted her bottom lip looks like a life preserver. But still.

And in more LACMA news…

This Saturday, September 25th is the LACMA Resnick Opening Gala Avant-Garde After Party — a great combination of art and fashion with previews of the following inaugural exhibitions:

Eye for the Sensual: Selections from the Resnick Collection
Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico

Andre Leon Talley shot some of the costumes from the European collection for the September issue of Vogue. And adding to the fun for the evening will be a performance by The Chapin Sisters.

Other host committee members include Sabina and David Nathanson, Hilary Tisch, Chloe Sevigny, Mary Kate Olsen, Band of Outsider’ Scott Sternberg, Cameron Silver of Decades, gallerist P.C Valmorbida, and models Guinevere van Seenus and Erin Wasson.

MTV Video Music Awards 2010: Hot guys in leather jackets.

Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield.

Penn Badgley

Jersey Shore’s Vinny. Sans Ed Hardy, dare we say he actually looks good?

Jared Leto hasn’t actually been hot since he was Jordan Catalano. But it appears that his jacket has been cut from somesort of hide, so we felt he deserved to be included in this list.
