Five Fashion-Forward Events for Your Weekend

1) See Rodarte’s Fra Angelico collection at LACMA. You like pretty dresses, right? This mesmerizing collection of dresses was inspired by the work of Italian Renaissance masters, which means it’s even more over-the-top theatrical than the Mulleavy’s usual fine fare. The Fra Angelico collection will be up through February 5, but why wait until the last weekend? 5905 Wilshire Blvd.  Friday, noon to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 8pm

2) Shop the final dregs of the Fred Segal Sale, now at 75% off. It all ends this weekend, and it’s already mostly picked over. (Yes, we went by today. Yes, we are obsessed.) But you can still find some nice merchandise, including plenty of under-$100 goodies from Topshop — and you do the math, that makes them $25 a piece and under. The caveat is that you need to buy at least three items to get the discount. At all locations, citywide.

3) Rummage through a selection curated by some of LA’s top fashion bloggers at the Two Point Oh! LA Flea Market at Space 15 Twenty. We’re not just plugging this event because Two Point Oh! queen Kelsi Smith is one of the nicest people in the city. She’s at the nexus of one of LA’s most vital fashion communities, which means her cohorts will be bringing some serious swag. And you’ll be able to shop the offerings of up-and-coming indie darlings like Bryan Hearns and Alana Hale. 1520 Cahuenga, Sunday, starting at 10am.

4.) Be the red carpet fashion police (from your couch) when you watch the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Awards show fashion has been so blaaaaahhh for the last few years, and the Golden Globes gave us a glimmer of glamour hope. Who’s going to bring it, and who needs to fire their stylist? Call it for yourself. TBS, Sunday night at 8pm.

5.) Stock up on high-end sweatpants at the Free City sample sale. You know those cozy sweats that celebs love, but mortals like us usually p-shaw! at because we can’t afford them? Now is the chance to see how the other half lives when you save up to 75% off on a collection that includes their famously spendy sweats, as well as assorted housewares, art, shoes, and more. 126 North Citrus Avenue, Hollywood. Friday through Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
