We celebrate seminal sleaze-rock band Mötley Crüe every day. But if there’s ever been a day to blast “Shout at the Devil” or “Girls, Girls, Girls” from your ’84 Mustang, it’s tomorrow. Because the city of West Hollywood has announced that tomorrow will be declared Mötley Crüe day in WeHo.
Granted, the honor is for this year alone (only guys like Jesus get recurring holidays), but the day coincides with the band receiving the Elmer Valentine Award for their contributions to the history of The Sunset Strip. The invitation-only awards ceremony at the House of Blues will kick off the fourth annual Sunset Strip Music Festival, a three-day music fest held along the iconic 1.6 mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard, Thursday through Saturday.
In honor of the Crüe’s big day, we’ve compiled a few notable fashion moments from their long and gloriously seedy history.
Cool leather jackets and big hair in the early days. Nikki Sixx looks like Joan Jett.
Shirtless-ness and suspenders in their prime.
“Shout at the Devil” promo photo — Dynasty makeup and chunky disco heels.
Stripes, polkadots and neon in the “Theater of Pain” era.
An early chains-and-leather look.

HELL YEAH MOTLEY CRUE 4-EVER !
