Gisele Bundchen: The hottest dumbass known to man?

Beauty? Yup. Brains? Not so much.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen recently found another way to make us mortals feel fundamentally inferior.

The new mommy mouthed off in an interview that she thinks there should be a “worldwide law” mandating mothers to breastfeed their children for at least six months. This from the robotica who regained her sample-sized figure mere days after giving birth.

Now, I happen to be breastfeeding a 6-week-old at present, so am firmly in the trenches here. And I can attest that learning to feed a tiny creature who can barely see (and likes to bite) can be one of the most frustrating experiences of a woman’s life. And no, it doesn’t always work. And that’s why formula was invented.

So, in the future let’s leave the cultural comments to those with jobs that require more than a hot ass.

A little harsh … just her opinion, she is not making this a law.

New moms should have a little slack.

Bottom line: Mom’s are selfish, lazy, and baby formula is convenient for that lifestyle.

It is a fact that breast milk is BEST for the baby. It is natural, not chemical. What is important here is not what the mom wants, this is about the baby’s needs.

The question people shouldbe asking here is this: What’s best for the baby’s development?

Two years of nutrient rich breast milk or powder from a factory? Can anyone really argue this without showing ignorance?

Yes. Breast feeding is time consuming, and not convenient. Formula is fast, and man made. And more expensive! But most importantly, it doesn’t impact the mother’s schedule.

These people leaving these comments are mom’s feeling intense conviction, so they lash out. No one wants to be known as a bad mom, but the reality is just that, in terms of making the most important decision for their baby, you have a choice, and one choice is better than the other.

Gisele has earned the right to say what is true, she is a mom now, before a supermodel. A mom sacrifices, and does what is best for the baby. The problem is the value of the world is upside down, we are moving away from what is right. People are making these comments because she is stunning, successful, and married to a handsome football player.

When mom’s like Jlo, who could comfortable take time off to breastfeed, refuse to breastfeed, this says a lot about the culture we live in.

“Gisele Bundchen: The hottest dumbass known to man?” …perhaps.

    Emili,

…loving you for this post! My little lock-jaw is about a month older than Gis’. …and I am also a nursing Mom.

As rabidly passionate as I am about breastfeeding, I also have the good sense to understand, and am sensitive to, the many variables that breastfeeding entails. …ability to produce, TIME and **SUPPORT** being just three of them.

Perhaps someone should remind Gis 1.) of the expectant, lactating mother and inutero version of her (now) husband (*rolling eyes*), the twosome once disregarded. …and 2.) her f*cking lane as she’s been veering quite often as of late.

    xo,

    Emili,

I LOVE this post. I agree with you completely. Though I think breast feeding is best for the baby, I think a lot of mothers (whether they want to or not) have to use formula. Not because of time constraints or just not wanting to do it, but there are many women who have medical reasons as to why they can’t. Some are on certain types of medicine and prescription drugs, which for obvious reasons would prohibit the mother from breastfeeding. I think this is a touchy subject for many women, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own right to raise their child as they think is best. But come on Gisele, a world wide law?

But again, Emili, I think this is amazing.

Women have been breast feeding for thousands of years and when women complain that it is so difficult, I say boo hoo, we’re not cave dwellers any longer and life is much easier and longer now than it was then.
I don’t love Gisele, but I think she is merely stating her opinion. It’s become very convenient for women to feed their babies formula and abandon the nipple altogether. Yes some babies don’t latch on, or it’s very difficult to feed them or sometimes mom’s can’t or don’t lactate. But, some women don’t even try to breast feed. That I find appalling! I don’t have time, it hurts, etc. If you don’t have the time and it hurts then maybe you shouldn’t have a child in the first place. I”m just saying!!!!

Wow… projection much? maybe a sense of jealousy?

Giselle is no idiot, I think she is smart for making her way to the top the way she has, and ensuring the best for her youngster by having that time with her child and ensuring a healthy future by breast feeding. It is a scientifically proven fact that breast feeding is the best for a growing baby, which is completely evident when comparing a breast fed baby to a non- breast fed baby. It is also proven that breast fed children have a better brain development than formula fed babies.

Duh Giselle is no rocket scientist, but obviously it doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that man made food is not healthy for an individual, or best yet a developing child.

It is very unfortunate for those who do not take the time to pump for their children to assure a healthfully developed and well behaved child.
