Fashion has been hitting the road lately. First there was Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet taking to the highways in an Airstream the company renovated into a roving boutique. And now Cynthia Rowley‘s ‘Shop on Wheels’ — a converted shipping truck — is cruising into California.

First stop: Newport Beach Center Fashion Island, from Aug. 6 to Aug. 8.

Rowley herself won’t be in it (which is kinda bogus), but the mobile store, which boasts hardwood floors, a fitting room, printed-fabric wall coverings and Lucite fixtures, carries the entire Cynthia Rowley collection, including women’s clothing, shoes, bags, eyewear, jewelry and gifty items.

The truck is scheduled cruise north from SoCal, stopping at boutiques, private homes and “surprise” locations. Prior stops on the truck’s cross-country tour include Miami, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas.

The Shop on Wheels will be parked at the Fashion Island valet area between Macy’s and the Apple store. Hours are Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
