We recommend (without being paid to): Silk T-shirt tunics by Purple Tree

ST001_BACKWe’re not big T-shirt people (blasphemy, we know, especially living in L.A.). The closest thing we usually come to sporting one on our daily pursuits is when we wear the old Bat Mitzvah shirt we slept in to Coffee Bean in the morning (we may not wear many T-shirts; that doesn’t mean we’re not slobs).

But 23 year-old Sarah Nathanson has helped change our position with Purple Tree, her line of cute, casual screen printed gear. Created as Nathanson’s senior thesis while studying art and design at the University of Michigan, Purple Tree uses nature and music inspired prints that come off as cool and carefree. And these hoodies, tees and tanks come for both guys and gals.

But our favorite Purple Tree designs aren’t T-shirts at all: They’re breezy, free-flowing tunics made from modal and silk. We especially love a floral silhouette printed style ($60) that slightly reminds us of a Kara Walker cut out (albeit with a sunnier message).

Perfect to wear with cords, cut-offs or even your favorite pair of “I Rocked with Rachel” boxer shorts during your morning caffeine run. Either one.

See the complete line at purple-tree.com. And since you knew that reading this here blog would come in handy one of these days, obviously, enter stylesectionla upon checkout to receive 20 percent off your Purple Tree order. Score.
