Society for Rational Dress designer Corinne Grassini participating in Art from the Ashes gallery exhibit

Unless you live on Mars, you likely remember the devastating Station Fire that broke out last August in the Angeles National Forest — the largest wildfire in L.A. county history. And during the fiery drama, over 700 acres of the Deukmejian Wilderness Park in Glendale were strategically burned to protect neighboring ‘hoods from the flames.

Now, in an effort to help rebuild the park, forty artists have come together to create works made from charred debris. One of the artists is Corinne Grassini, designer of Society for Rational Dress, who created a dress with a neckpiece made from fire debris.

The exhibit, which benefits ART from the Ashes as well as the Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation, runs through July 24th at the Art from the Ashes gallery in Glendale — better known as the future home of the Museum of Neon Art.

The free show is definitely a cause worth supporting, especially since fire season will be here again before we know it.

Through July 24. ART from the Ashes Gallery, 216 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. artfromtheashes.org
