One of the preppier crowds the L.A. party scene has seen in recent memory turned out to celebrate the launch of K. Cooper Ray’s new bow tie collaboration with Brooks Brothers. The pieces caught the attention of the storied menswear brand, and only a year and a half after having drinks with Brooks Brothers reps at Chateau Marmont, the ties are now available. Ray jumped at the chance to work with the brand, describing it as his “dream.”
But, unfortunately ladies, when asked about a possibility for some women’s pieces, Ray responded, “Social Primer would never deign to tell a woman how to dress or to act.”
As for those interested in the current selection of Ray’s stripy, reversible ties available at brooksbrothers.com, act fast. When this writer checked out the site, nine of the sixteen styles were already sold out.
