With music stores struggling for every dollar these days — and diversifying their merch mix faster than you can say “illegal downloads” — it’s interesting to hear that Amoeba Music, L.A.’s last big indie record store, is hawking its wares outside of its sprawling mega-stores.
The retailer will be selling DVDs, posters, vinyl and other music-related goodies on April 24 and 25 at the Unique L.A. trade show, a gift and design trade show (open to the trade only) that features clothing, stationary, home decor, artwork, books and other gifty tangibles.
Apparently there is life after iTunes — at least for vinyl purveyors willing to get all entrepreneurial.
