Tasha Adams has an interesting post on the proliferation of barber shops in the city, namely the new Barber Shop Club at the Farmers Market. I hear less and less from friends about seeking out three-figure haircuts these days — and more about quick cuts at Shorty’s or Floyd’s or Rudy’s. This is a good thing. If you’re a guy and your hair is short enough for minimal options when it comes to styling it, you simply don’t need John Edwards exhorbitance when it comes to a haircut. Period. If I’ve missed some cosmic significance that comes with $125 haircut on Camden in Beverly Hills, please let me know. But I’ve had one there, and my stylist at Rudy’s does a shampoo that can run circles around some Shear Genius hack on the westside. Ditto the cut.
