We’ve heard from just about everyone in NY that T magazine editor-in-chief Stefano Tonchi, as Nick Axelrod of WWD is reporting this morning, is basically a shoe-in to helm another single-character fashion magazine: W.

Carine Roitfeld (also pictured), editor of French Vogue, was earlier considered to be a prime contender, but momentum has since shifted to Tonchi, and that’s not a bad thing. Looking forward to seeing what direction the magazine will go under his vision. Yet to be answered, however, is who might take over the top spot at T. May we suggest … Carine Roitfeld? Sounds like she’s been wanting to move to New York for a while now. —Krista Jennings
