Designer Jenni Kayne could be considered the sportswear queen of L.A. fashion. A minimalist at heart, she adores Ralph Lauren-style Americana crossed with Calvin Klein-esque simplicity.
Her Spring collection (in stores now), full of simple, shapes in khaki, black and canary yellow, dives head-first into her signature sporty aesthetic — while delivering a shot of modern glamour, courtesy of two spangly silver metallic pieces: A sequined, high-waisted miniskirt (Kayne is famous for her high-waisted minis at this point), and a matching pair of skinny silver pants.
In her Spring presentation, Kayne smartly paired both looks with otherwise preppy pieces — a boyfriend blazer and a mannish button-front shirt — to play down their inherent sex appeal.
But I can also see the these silver belles being worn Jerry Hall-style, with an over-sized knit top and mad jewelry. Either way, they’re both absolute stunners for Spring.
