Often times in my line of work, I’m able to unearth hidden gems that turn out to be strokes of absolute brilliance. And today, I was fortunate to have one of these life changing moments with the discovery of Third and Delaware, a blog dedicated to the fashion of Roseanne.
What?! You may be thinking, noting how Roseanne Conner, her husband Dan and sister Jackie were three of the schelpiest-looking characters ever to grace the small screen. Au contraire, I say.
The show was a venerable East side thrift store rack with ugly Easter sweaters, plaid flannel button downs and mom jeans (and shorts!) galore. An episode that shows Roseanne smokin’ some herb also shows her wearing an activity-appropriate fringed vest. On another fine occasion, Joan Collins stops by Lanford, Illinois donning graphic-print leggings and, in another scene, a leopard-print blouse. And who can forget Jackie’s oh-so-irreverent moon and star belt that she wore to a town singles dance?
Now, with this anonymously-authored blog, you don’t have to Tivo Nick at Night to get the early 90s, middle American styling tips you crave. Third and Delaware comes complete with screen shots and hysterical quips that will cause fans of the show to giggle with glee.
This is the stuff of time wasting gold. Add it to your RSS feed at once.
