Sundance 2010 fashion: Appropriate dress for Park City

SundanceKateMalinSince Friday morning, Park City has experienced near white-out conditions, and that means one can barely see their own feet as they trudge through the slush. That also means that a bevy of clearly brainless festival-goers think that wearing heels and hoochie dresses through the winter wonderland is not only acceptable, but smart too.

I don’t think their water-logged Louboutin’s feel the same way.

Actresses Malin Ackerman and Kate Mara both got blizzard chic right yesterday at the premiere of their new film, Josh Radnor’s happythankyoumoreplease (the How I Met Your Mother actor’s directoral debut).

Ackerman, who was honored later in the evening as one of Gen Art’s seven Fresh Faces in Film, sported a padded leather jacket by Helmut Lang ($1,325) while Mara looked cozy and cool in Theory’s black leather ‘Tolla’ bomber ($745).

As for the severely-stillettoed girl I saw take down a steel barricade while flying through the air in front of Harry O’s last night, I can only say ouch.
