Sundance 2010: Dani Stahl designs a lizard for Lia Sophia

sundanceblog2“Get everyone in it,” Said Nylon accessories director Dani Stahl, trying to saturate the Village at the Lift gifting suite with the gecko-shaped broach she designed for jewelry maker Lia Sophia. “Get Simon Rex in it.”

Stahl claimed she was trying to “start a movement” with the small, bronze-finish reptile pin, which she designed exclusively for Lia Sophia’s Sundance suite.

And when asked why she chose to create a gecko as opposed to, well, anything else, Stahl didn’t really have a great answer. “We thought it would be funny if everyone wore a gecko.”

Hilarious.

While the pin is only available to the lucky swag hags blowing through Park City this weekend (Erin, meet kettle),  fans of Lia Sophia’s innovative and well-priced gems can browse the catalog and locate a purchase advisor here.

No word if Simon Rex embraced the look, but we spotted him sans any sign of the little beast at a different gifting suite later in the day.
