Alexa Chung, the British-born model, MTV personality and British Vogue contributing editor is constantly lauded for her androgynous, downtown style and frequent use of ankle booties. And come fall, the 26 year-old beauty will bring her vibe to the masses when Madewell, J. Crew’s lower priced cousin, launches a limited-edition collection of Chung-designed goods.
According to American Vogue’s Mark Holgate, Chung first learned about the brand from an ex London roommate who worked for Madewell and mentioned that her image was all over their design team’s inspiration boards. She started shopping the store and the rest, as they say, is history.
Crafted under the Alexa Chung for Madewell label, pieces are set to include high waisted denim and trousers, dungaree dresses and big collared, vintage-inspired frocks that “bring cute back,” which Chung told Vogue was a goal of the line.
No word yet if ankle booties are part of the line up, too.
