Q: How many jewels does it take to get a writer out of bed & into church on a sopping Monday night in L.A.?

A: Two.  Jules Kim & Bijules.

The New York-based jewelry designer is a favorite, so when I heard that Jules Kim was bringing her line Bijules to my new favorite boutique, Church, I had to stop by for the opening.

Rodney & David, the super-friendly owners of the West Hollywood boutique (which we wrote about here), have given Bijules prime real estate in the eclectic space.  A fashionably hip welcome committee came to get a peek, and of course, Los Angeles gave Jules a proper christening with appearances from Lindsay (& Ali) Lohan, Paula Abdul, and a hoard of paparazzi waiting outside the ivy-laced façade.

Bijules’ best-of pieces, like the now classic Bar Ring, are on display alongside the Spring 2010 “Scream & Spirit” collection (the Bone Bar ring is below), rarities like the golden shoulder blades once sported by Karen O., and some other amazing baubles we’d never seen before.

The whole experience is really a treat – best time I’ve had in a “church” in over a decade –  so I give this pairing an A+ and highly suggest you check it out.
