Unintended product placement of the day: True Religion

Flipping through the international section of today’s New York Times, I came across an A.P. article on five young Americans arrested in Pakistan for alleged jihadist aspirations in neighboring Afghanistan. Troubling. But I admit that the first thing to catch my eye in the accompanying Reuters perp walk photo (see below) was a familiar horseshoe logo on the hoodie of one of the accused (who also sports an inexplicable grin).

Clearly, the locally-based True Religion really is a bona fide global brand like Adidas (its logo visible on his track pants). And yes, that’s not always a good thing.
