I’m not usually one for vibrant colors and deconstructed designs, but I’m really digging the colorful louche-ness of L.A. designer Arnold Zimberg‘s men’s shirts.
His thing is putting a cool, modern twist on the same-old plaid Western button-down (the one my husband has made into a daily uniform this winter).
At $150 to $200 each, they’re not exactly a steal, but they’re so much fresher-feeling than anything you’re likely to snag at American Eagle or Abercrombie, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger for a stylish bf, bro or baby-love this holiday.
But then Zimberg has some pretty rad experience under his belt. He worked in various design capacities at Givenchy, Valentino and Geoffrey Beene, among others, before setting out on his own. Considering this, I guess a good shirt is to be expected. (And because of his success with the shirt, Zimberg’s launched a women’s version in time for the holidays).

I find it very interesting how they find a way to recreate old mens shirts.
