Kidding. We get it, F21 attorneys: Everyone’s favorite fast-fashion women’s retailer settled a trade dress suit with Trovata earlier this fall. The OC-borne label accused Forever 21 that it had pretty much copied emulated its designs, leaving the whole should-fashion-be-subject-to-more-stringent-intellectual-property-standards question unresolved (terms of settlement undisclosed, F21 admitted no liability, etc. etc. etc.). Nevertheless, the collection of flirty shirt-dresses and cardigans are probably tempting to use for inspiration. At least Trovata’s prices aren’t exactly stratospheric for spring, with the vast majority of the collection retailing for well under $100. —Krista Jennings
