The Zenith of Weekend Bags

Obvious trends aside, 2009 has seen an influx of superlative masculine weekend bags. Fewer Americans have taken two-week excursions abroad this year—replaced by the three-day-weekend-on-one-gas-tank vacation variety. For those short-but-sweet trips, Hypebeast alerted us today of fab shoemaker Common Projects’ new leather duffle ($600, available at Aloha Rag). And then there’s the latest collection from WANT Le Essentiels de la Vie, the Canadian bag label that designs its wares based on the duration of your trip (24 hour, 48 hour, etc). The 72-hour Da Vince travel bag screams Santa Barbara weekend. —Paul Dexter
