Is the Era of the Celebrity Endorsement Winding Down?

There was Daria Werbowy for LancĂ´me, Carmen Kass for Michael Kors and Jessica Stam for Bulgari, among others. I remember a time when you’d be much more like to see Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie hawking a perfume or cosmetics line.

And I say hurray. I grew up with fashion magazines — not tabloids — tucked under my pillow, and was never too crazy about the InStyle-fueled celebrity-as-model phenomenon. Now if only we could get those thespian babes off the covers of magazines.
