Alber Elbaz is a genius. Given. His spring 2010 collection for Lanvin was superlative. Obv. His resort collection, however, attempts to be “accessible” with beautifully crafted (if resembling a creation courtesy of Crayola) T-shirts…that retail north of $300. There are added details, of course, like chiffon edges. But if we’ve learned anything in the past year, isn’t it somewhat sacrilege to pay three figures for T’s? Especially when this Lanvin/Acne Jeans military denim jacket retails for only a few bucks more (now 50% of) and will retain its cachet far longer. Nice try, Alber. –Krista Jennings
