I ran into Gap consultant Janey Lopaty at a party last night, who filled me in the on the company’s future plans for Gap’s Premium Denim Pop-up Shop on Robertson Blvd.. The space will transition over to an all-Stella McCartney-for-Gap boutique in November — stocking the tony designer’s forthcoming collection for the brand’s baby and kids’ divisions. An opening event is planned for Nov. 4.
McCartney’s much-anticipated collection for the mass retailer will include cashmere blankets, military jackets, blazers with silk lapels and Fair Isle sweaters, all priced from $14 to $128 (for jackets.) I don’t have any kids, but I think it will be worth checking out the pop-up for the bizarre mini-me aspect of it all. Admit it — these jackets look like they were made for Keebler Elves, not kids.
