Right this very second, Chris Benz, Alexander Wang and the Olsens are at the Four Seasons in Manhattan celebrating their induction to the Council of Fashion Designers of America with an intimate dinner hosted by CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg.
(We, on the other hand, are busy debating whether or not the left over chicken in our fridge looks safe to eat. But moving on.)
Here is the complete list of the 31 new-class clothiers that will, lets be honest, be eating and drinking better than you tonight.
Notice that hometown design duo Marcella and Johan Lindberg appear, as does the creative director of mom-slacks emporium Talbots whose website currently carries the oh-so-stylish reindeer top pictured at right.
The CFDA Class of 2009: Susie Cho of Inhabit; Chris Benz, Kevin Carrigan, Calvin Klein; Lyn Devon, Tim Hamilton, Erin Fetherston, Christina and Swaim Hutson of Hutson, Alejandro Ingelmo, Christopher and Nicholas Kunz of Nicholas K, Marcella and Johan Lindeberg of Paris 68, J.Lindeberg and William Rast, Deborah Lloyd of Kate Spade, Jenna Lyons of J.Crew, Deborah Marquit, Stefan Miljanic of Gilded Age, Irene Neuwirth, John Patrick of Organic, Jill Platner, Lorraine Schwartz, Simon Spurr of Spurr, Michael Smaldone of Talbots, Koi Suwannagate, Albertus Swanepoel, and Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments, Maria Pinto, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson of The Row.
And tune in to Style Section L.A. bright and early tomorrow for an interview with menswear designer and inductee Simon Spurr.
(Assuming that our angry looking leftovers don’t kill us tonight.)
