Alexander McQueen wasn’t the only designer sending towering statement shoes down the runway this season.
Christian Siriano’s Spring collection for Payless Shoes also caused a stir. The collection featured heels with talon-like details and peep-toe booties with five-inch heels — a style that proved unnavigable for at least one model.
But according to The Cut, Payless is only sorta producing the line, copy-and-paste style. Apparently the discount retailer is simply grafting Siriano’s dramatic ocean-blue-and-orange prints from his original collection onto a basic pump. It’s unlikely that some of the avian specimens from the runway would ever find themselves at a strip mall near you next season, but here’s to hoping Payless gives its customer more than a pedestrian pump from Project Runway’s biggest star to date.
