It isn’t everyday that you meet a musician who looks like Britney but plays like Beethoven.

Today, meet Caitlin Moe. The 21 year-old virtuoso violinist sings, writes her own music and yes, knows how to play actual instruments–a rare occurrence in our modern world of predetermined, manufactured pop music.

Fresh off a whirlwind tour of Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week events (Moe played parties for DKNY, Chloe, shoemaker/genius Alejandro Ingelmo and gossip scribe Perez Hilton), the bubbly blond is now readying herself for a two-month, nationwide stint with the Trans Siberian Orchestra, which kicks off in Omaha on November 1.

But the world famous rock orchestra, best known for their haunting, heavy metal renditions of classic Christmas pieces, has a major dress code.

“They want us to look like rock stars,” Moe said, citing the all-black wardrobe being mandated by her new employer–both on-stage and off.

But with current trends skewing toward I’m-with-the-band chic, Moe found it simple to find outfits that fit her workplace rules.

Favorites from a recent Manhattan shopping spree include a short, sweetheart neck strapless leatherette dress by Theory,  a leather skirt and pair of leather shorts from LF Stores and, Moe’s piece de resistance, a pair of thigh-high boots by Jeffery Campbell.

Uh, isn’t it hard to perform on stage in sky-high stiletto leg braces? This girl has got it covered.

“I was running around the store to test them out and I looked like an idiot,” she says. “But I have a pair of back-up boots just in case.”

Talented and prepared. Sounds like a winner to us.
