Stumbling out of Crown Bar last Friday, I desperately sought a taxi cab to cart me to my next destination. But in L.A., cabs don’t always come easy.
So I set off on foot.
And as my poor feet pounded Santa Monica Boulevard’s pavement in pain, I wished for a miracle–or my own chauffeur.
While the personal driver is a little way off, my miracle is here in the form of a purse.
Regine Basha’s “New York” clutch ($225) has the word “Taxi” scrawled across the side in letters that light up with the flip of a switch.
The limited edition bag, made under the designer’s 2enlight10 label, is powered by two triple A batteries and acts as the perfect sign to let cab drivers know that you mean business.
Just hold it up, show some leg and bam–you’ll never have blisters again.
To Basha, who happens to be the offspring of jeweler Aaron Basha, I say Bravo! Your brilliance makes me angry that I didn’t think of this first.
But my feet (and the fine taxi drivers of greater Los Angeles) thank you very, very much.
