This pop-up store thing is getting out of control. Like drinking malt liquor under the bleachers at a pep rally, everyone is doing it. But we’re kind of loving it anyway.
The newest L.A. designer to debut an ephemeral boutique is the jersey-centric Rachel Pally, who will launch her temporary store on Oct. 22 in L.A. (456 South La Brea Ave.)
The shop will be open for a limited time (presumably until everything’s sold,) and hours will be Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sundays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Merch will include select styles from Pally’s Fall and Holiday 2009 collections, as well as discounted styles from previous seasons in the “sale loft” (look for seriously discounted grab here.)
Actress Amy Smart, a long time supporter of Rachel Pally, will host a private soiree to celebrate the opening, and Pally will spend time in the boutique once a week to offer hands-on styling tips (exact dates/times tbd.)
I’ve been a longtime fan of Pally’s easy, breezy pieces, which look neat-and-tidy but feel as comfy as my old Beastie Boys “Check Your Head” t-shirt — which, incidentally, I wore while drinking malt liquor under the bleachers.
