Preppy Rules at Lacoste’s Pink Croc Party

-1-3Lacoste feted its new Pink Croc Collection — a beach-themed line, which includes rosy-hued polos, sunglasses and flip flops –  last night, at a soiree at the brand’s L.A. store, hosted by pixie-faced actress Leslie Mann.

Despite the brand’s inveterate preppiness, guests refrained from wearing popped collars and headbands, but did sport 80s-style blazers and tights, evoking the prep school-chic uniforms found on gossiping girls.

Mann—who mingled with other Judd Apatow-film vets, including Jason Segal and Michael Cera—wore a black Lacoste blazer, rolling up its sleeves and adding a sequined scarf. Other gals followed, um, suit, pairing blazers with brightly colored dresses or opting for leather, velvet or cropped blazer variations.

The guys were somewhat bolder in their embrace of the all things preppy, donning bowties, crested cardigans and argyle prints. One style savant combined Bermuda shorts, suspenders and an argyle vest all at once. And, strangely, we weren’t mad at it.
