Hair product king Frédéric Fekkai hung up his shears professionally years ago.

But the iconic tress master — a perennial figure on the 90s fashion editorial scene — is now offering up a handful of appointments at a cut rate ($200, down from $1,000) at his Melrose Place salon Oct. 25 through Nov. 5.

Whatever for? To benefit local charity Art of Elysium. One hundred percent of profits will go to the nonprofit organization, which raises money for sick kids.

Fekkai will also be in town to close his Beverly Hills salon on October 10 — which, rumor has it, has gone from bustling to bust in the past few years. The Melrose Place salon will be upgraded to take its place as the company’s West Coast flagship.
