Mary Travers: Beauty, Beneficence, Bangs

mary1Generations before long, eye-skimming bangs graced the foreheads of Bardot-bound starlets–or even before Andy Warhol-darling Nico endlessly trimmed her fringe in 1966′s Chelsea Girls–there was Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary, who died yesterday at age 72 from side effects associated with chemotherapy treatment for leukemia.

Earnest voice, simple message, and a folk girl’s effortless style. Thanks for the memories.
